I cannot believe that it is August already, summer is almost done. Actually, I hope summer lasts until Christmas, it took forever for it to get here. I have been seeing everyone’s posts and there is a lot going on this month, everyone is busily harvesting their garden goodies which is very exciting.
Here is a little of what we have had in out kitchen since IMK last month:
Paddington Bear dummies, how cute are those?
These are Evie’s favorite
Some fresh light rye bread
A savory snack, I love sour cream and onion chips
and a sweet snack, ginger cookies
Local cherries
last of the local strawberries that we picked at a u-pick farm
made some freezer jam out of those
For September’s post we will be in Newfoundland for a wedding, so I am not sure if we will get an IMK post up for then. Maybe we will have a post from our remote kitchen, I will see what I can do.
Thanks to Celia at Fig Jam and Lime Cordial for hosting as always, even in an absence she is still bringing us together.
Ginger biscuits in our kitchen as well but those look far more special than the everyday offerings we substituted because of an oven outage – we do have an affection for them, so they immediately caught my eye.
It’s apparently the start of cherry season here, which means -yes- August already and Christmas on the way!
What a wonderfully tasty IMK post – I love Turkish Delight and my favourite is from Woolworths. Far to addictive!
Have a wonderful and happy day.
🙂 Mandy xo
We don’t have Woolworth’s here. We don’t really have any good Turkish delights, we got these from British import store.
I shall definitely enjoy my next one just for you. 🙂 xo
What a lovely post that brightened my day! I love cherries, so they caught my eye right away! Love the Paddington gummies too! Thanks for this month’s kitchen view also!
Lori, I’ve heard (or read) so many good things about Turkish Delight and hope to try it (or make it) some day. Your colander full of fresh cherries (and strawberries turned into freezer jam) are a celebration of summer! 🙂
Lori, those cherries look divine! Happy August 🙂
Love the cherries and strawberries. We made a lot of strawberry vanilla jam and strawberry syrup this summer. The Paddington tummies are cute!
Great variety, from fresh fruit to candies. Covering all the food groups!
Turkish Delight is a bit of a weakness of mine. Love the stuff.
Freezer jam sounds perfect and love all the lollies! -Cate from IMK
